Permits for Treks and Expeditions – Everester Adventure

1. TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System)
All foreign trekkers must obtain a TIMS card through a licensed trekking agency. It ensures safety, monitors trekking routes, and facilitates rescue operations. Solo trekking without a guide is no longer allowed in most areas.

2. National Park and Conservation Area Permits
Treks passing through national parks like Sagarmatha, Annapurna, Langtang, and Manaslu require entry permits. Fees support wildlife preservation and local communities. Permits are arranged by Everester Adventure before the trek begins.

3. Restricted Area Permits (RAP)
Special permits are required for remote or border regions (e.g., Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, Manaslu). A licensed guide and minimum two trekkers are mandatory. Fees vary depending on the region and duration.

4. Expedition and Peak Climbing Permits
Climbing mountains in Nepal requires permits from the Department of Tourism (for >7,000m) or Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) (for trekking peaks <7,000m). Fees depend on peak height, season, and location.

5. Everest and Other High-Altitude Peaks Fees
Mount Everest permit fees: Spring USD 11,000, Autumn USD 5,500, Summer/Winter USD 2,750 (increasing to USD 15,000 from September 2025). Fees for other 8,000m+ peaks and trekking peaks vary accordingly.

6. Garbage Deposit and Environmental Compliance
Climbers must submit a refundable garbage deposit to maintain environmental standards. Everest requires USD 4,000; lower peaks require proportionally less. Deposit is refunded after proper waste management verification.

7. Required Documents for Permits
Everester Adventure requires a valid passport copy, two passport photos, detailed itinerary, and valid Nepal visa to process all permits before your trek or expedition.

8. Carry and Present Permits
All permits must be carried throughout the trek. Officials may check permits at checkpoints. Failing to present valid permits can result in fines or restricted access.

9. Professional Permit Management
Everester Adventure handles all permit arrangements, documentation, and payments efficiently. We are a registered trekking agency, compliant with Nepal Tourism Board and TAAN regulations, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free process.
