The Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek is one of the most sought-after treks in Langtang National Park, located in the northeastern region of central Nepal, near Kathmandu. This trek offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences, guiding you through deep gorges, rugged trails, lush pine forests, yak pastures, traditional Buddhist monasteries, charming villages, terraced hillsides, serene valleys, and stunning glaciers cascading from towering peaks. A highlight of the trek is the sacred Gosainkunda Lake (4,380m), an alpine freshwater lake revered in Hindu and Buddhist traditions.
The journey begins with a scenic drive along the Trishuli River, passing through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche, and reaching Syabrubesi, a quaint Tamang village on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. From here, the trek follows the Langtang River to Lama Hotel, where we spend the first night.
On the second day, the trek continues from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village, a prominent Tamang settlement, and then to Kyangin Gompa. We spend a day here to acclimatize. During this rest day, you can explore the yak cheese factory, hike to Tserko Ri Viewpoint, or visit the Kyangin Gompa monastery to soak in the local culture and stunning mountain scenery.
