Everest Base Camp Trek is arguably the most iconic and sought-after trekking adventure in the Himalayas. Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak at 8,848 meters, lies in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range, straddling the border between Nepal and Tibet. Known locally as Sagarmatha in Nepal and Chomolungma in Tibet, Everest has long captured the imagination of adventurers and mountaineers worldwide.
The trek retraces the legendary route of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, who first reached the summit in 1953. Journeying into the Sherpa heartland of the Khumbu Valley, trekkers gradually acclimatize while experiencing the awe-inspiring Himalayan scenery. The region is home to four of the world’s six highest peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Along the way, you’ll gain a first-hand glimpse into the life of the world-famous Sherpas, the most skilled and resilient mountain guides in the world.
The trek also offers cultural and spiritual experiences. Explore ancient Buddhist monasteries, stone stupas, and manic walls, while witnessing the warm hospitality, kindness, and humor of the Sherpa people who have lived for centuries in this high-altitude paradise. Accommodation ranges from standard lodges to luxury tea houses, offering comfort amidst stunning natural beauty.
One of the highlights of the trek is Kala Patthar (5,550m), just two hours from Gorakshep. From here, you’ll enjoy unparalleled views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Changtse, and the Khumbu Glacier—truly a photographer’s paradise.

Namche is also a popular acclimatization stop for trekkers, helping the body adjust to the higher altitudes.
The trek can be challenging at times, but the journey is filled with breathtaking scenery—lush forests, terraced farmland, rolling hills, and towering Himalayan peaks.
